Tucked
away in the small villages of the lush Kaçkar mountain region of
northeast Turkey we find the Tulum, the traditional bagpipe of the
Hemsin and Laz people. This recording captures the unique sounds of two
solo players from the village of Hemsin. Murat Avan and Yasar
Çorbacioglu, representing two generations, play different styles
of Tulum, both following the tradition that has preceeded them for
centuries. $16
