Erzulie Freda Dahomey is the goddess of love that represents man's capacity to dream. The goal of a vodun ceremony is to honor a loa (spirit) and to summon them for purposes of communication. The high point of the ceremony is the "possession" of the devotee. He becomes the voice of the loa, communicating advice, warnings, and desires to the community. Re-released by Folkways in small 'to-order' quantities, these CDs do not have cover art but do include copies of orginal notes. These are very rare CDs and are not sold in stores.
