This
is an early recording of many styles of music found in Haiti.
On
this recording we can hear examples from the Arada-Nago or Congo-Guinee
cult, work songs, an invocation to the loa and ezilie, social songs,
music for the deceased, spirit conversations, and carnival music as
well as other examples of religious and secular music.
Re-released by Folkways in small 'to-order' quantities, these
CDs do
not have cover art but do include copies of orginal notes.
