KAYA- Singer
A
mostly autodidactic singer born in Jerusalem, where she absorbed the
rich and multi-faceted cultural and musical influences of this unique
international city. The chants and prayers from churches, mosques and
synagogues, the singing of peddlers and stallholders in the street
markets, and other sounds of the bustling city echo in her unique,
powerful and vibrant voice. Her formal singing training includes
studying with leading opera teachers in Israel.
Kaya
has appeared throughout Europe, represented Israel in South Korea and
Thailand. She performs regularly at many events in Israel.
Kaya composed and wrote the lyrics of all the songs in the performance of "Cosmogenesis".
Moti Schwartz, Percussionist
A
percussionist specializing in the "Talking Drum" (developed a unique
way of playing the "Talking Drum"), an African drum that has seven
octaves, and Dombeck, Arabian drum.
Has
played since his early childhood, studied in Israel (Givatayim
Conservatory) and the USA (Dick Groove Music School, L.A., Julliard and
Hunter College, N.Y.). Represented Israel in many official tours such
as the Israeli delegation to Korea on the occasion of establishing
diplomatic relations with the Republic of South Korea.
Participated in the World Folk Festival in Queen Sikrit Center, Bangkok, Thailand.
